Romanos was born in a poor shoe-making family in Late Byzantine Empire. Romanos can make different kind of shoes: 
boots for the farmers, soft fabric shoes for the ladies. His father wants him to continue the shoe-making business. Though 
Romanos is good at making shoes, but he wants to become something else: a musician.
