This is not a new work, but I kind of like it and would like to develop more.
The scene was from the first generation of a  classic PC game called "The Legend of Sword of Fairy" (仙劍奇俠傳)
I love this game so much, so I figured making some fan's work.

Milica Zec's Giant

By researching the lastest work of  the VR director Milica Zec, I found this wonderful video from SVA. Zec and her teammate Winslow Porter shared their production experience of Giant, a VR story that featured in Sundance 2016. They talked about the project from the story inspiration and the technical side of VR filmmaking. 
Here are some technique highlight from the video:

DepthKit

When bringing regular footage into a game engine, the image is flat as a plate. In order to bring a three dimensional illusion, they used a software called DepthKit, to make the footage more of a 2.5D experience. 
They captured the depth data on set, then composite the data afterwards. (Inside Unreal??)

​Photogrammetry

They used Autodesk 123D Catcher to generate 3D models and placed them into Unreal. They claimed the method was money and time saving, and the software is for free!

Interactive Props

They made a special chair that equipped with a low frequency sound vibration speaker underneath the seat, to give the audience the immersive feedback of bombing environment.

The  Recent Trend of 360 Degree Video

2016年被許多發展VR軟硬體技術的公司大頭稱為VR元年,360度影片與VR行銷應用範圍,以汽車業與房地產業最多。

但今年開始360度廣告影片將會被更廣泛應用於時尚、 美食、旅遊/飯店、運動、自然、公益。也因為360度廣告與傳統網路廣告影片相比,前者擁有更高的CTR與總觀看次數,Call-to-action亦是兩倍至三倍高,今年社群的廣告行銷模式勢必會趨向360度影片發展。

除了廣告,360度影片在今年的應用會更廣泛出現於教育(醫療教育、特殊教育等)健康照護、甚至是VR電影院等。

可以預期,今年的360度影片應用範圍會是如雨後春筍般爆發

2016年Google選出最佳360度廣告影片,No.1 是BMW 製作了”Eyes on Gigi Hadid” campaign, 知名模特Gigi 擔任賽車手,與其他四台車競速,觀者在360度影片中必須猜測Gigi最終是在哪個車道上.

影片除了搭配Gigi個人在社群的影響力外,此Campaign爭相被各大媒體主動傳播,這支廣告在臉書與Youtube總觀看次數高達13,000,000次

Google2016年最佳360度廣告影片,No.10是卓美亞帆船飯店的360度廣告影片”Jumeirah Inside.” teaser只有短短的46秒, 讓觀者隨著高級轎車駛往豪華飯店門口,他導入的官方網站有360度的導覽功能,讓觀者能選擇飯店內不同的位置欣賞並簡介飯店內的陳設。

VR Today票選第七名是 厲陰宅ㄉII 的360度體驗。觀者像是進入鬼屋探索ㄧ般,在漆黑詭異的房子內感受靈異現象 .片尾導入官方網站以及官方社群讓觀者可以追蹤或體驗更多。

VR Today票選第二名是Discovery聯名吉列刮鬍刀製作的“Mega Coaster: Get Ready for the Drop”。影片單純將整趟雲霄飛車的體驗用360度攝影機拍攝下來,並搭配少許的motion graphic顯示速度。

目前360度廣告影片以兩種方向發展,ㄧ是強調觀看中的遊戲性與社群互動性質,例如BMW的影片希望觀者能目不轉睛看著特定的車子,最後必須到指定網頁填寫答案參加活動。二是純粹體驗,將ㄧ些平時無法感受到的事件或場域帶給觀者,讓觀者能享受到360 度觀看的樂趣。

2017年亦會採用同樣的方式,但想必會有更新鮮的互動模式出現,就看各家創意人員的點子了。
但360度廣告影片傳播的重點在於,吸引觀眾導入某事件的發生(前往活動網頁、關注某事件),因此有完整的campaign或是有明確得目的性才有製作360度影片的意義。

    Google研發的ㄧ對多教育工具app。
    學生透過Cardboard觀看360度影片,
    教師可以在平版電腦上看見學生的資訊並透過系統進行互動。

    教師反饋:學生因為沈浸式教育,在課堂上引起更深層且廣泛的議題討論。例如,影片讓學生身處在高原上,學生會詢問這裏的人是如何在這麼高這麼冷的地方生活?等設身處底思考的問題。

  4. Vimeo: 以獨立製片為大宗,多半是藝術、紀錄片等精緻高品質360度影片
